Accountant

Originally from Gaspésie Marie-Hélène Whitty studied administrative sciences at the Cégep de la Gasspésie et des Îles and later obtained her Bachelor of Business Administration from Laval University. She then spent many years working in a variety of accounting positions in Quebec and in 1999, she was Certified General Accounting (CGA) accredited. That same year she made the move to New Brunswick and opened her own accounting business in 2000. Since then, she has been working full-time in this capacity.

Marie-Hélène’s office is situated in Charlo. She was motivated to be an entrepreneur so she could make hr own decisions and run her company based on her own personal values.

Marie-Hélène’s business is unique because she provides clients with a personalized and flexible approach. She feels that the best advice she received is to learn how to say no, be aware of your strengths and weaknesses and also to ensure that you have a work-life balance.

Marie-Hélène received financial training with Ron Robichaud, hosted and organized by the NB Association of CBDCs. This training helped her business and she found the tools and advice he provided were very useful and applicable to her trade.
